Get on board with “The Tidewater Music Express” Show!!

I’ll start by saying this show is for the ‘creative minds and musical sounds’ of the Tidewater area.

The hundreds, if not thousands of great musicians and artists in the Tidewater area, their talents and efforts should be highlighted in some way.

The origins of the idea behind this crazy show:

“But exactly how? You better know what you’re doing before you jump ahead here.” I thought five months ago trying to brainstorm ideas.   Sometimes you have to force yourself to be inspired and quickly.  The idea had to go beyond just showing one local music video after another; which is great within itself, but with some extra ingredients added, I felt anyway.  “The show has to be enthralling in some way to keep viewers watching from one minute to the next. There must be some way to do that in this day and age with very little to work with.” I thought. I would also have to be very resourceful and really use what I had, at a very low budget, practically nothing.  This would be, starting off, a one person DIY passion project.

The answer came to me when watching a rerun of a Seinfeld episode where Kramer features his own TV show after he trash-picks an old back drop set from the Merv Griffin show.  In addition, I was watching old episodes of The Gong Show, Dick Cavett, The Tonight Show, etc. on youtube, something was clicking for me.  The show should be cheesy, funny but also informative.  Also, a local show were musicians and artists can relax, laugh and open up about themselves a little, especially about their music and art.  Most importantly, a show that will feature their music, first and foremost.

The Tidewater Music Express will be just that.

Fast forward to now, 3 online episodes later… I’m quite pleased.  It’s a damn good start.

For now, the show is featured only on Youtube, and passed around the web to be viewed.   I plan on having an episode wrapped up every month or so.   Will this show ever be broadcasted on local television as well one day? We. Shall. See.

I invite you to sit back, have a beverage and enjoy the show.  More to come in 2020!

Below is a fresh new episode (Ep. 3, Jan. 2020) for you to watch, Enjoy.

Thank You.
